If you want to launch vehicles or components into the emerging Taiwanese market, you will quickly be confronted with the VSCC.
But what exactly is behind this acronym and why is it so important for automotive suppliers and manufacturers (OEMs)?
The Vehicle Safety Certification Center (VSCC) serves as the pivotal authority in Taiwan, ensuring that all vehicles and their components meet national safety and quality standards. Failing to comply with VSCC's requirements can make it challenging to gain a foothold in the Taiwanese market. A crucial part of the approval process involves tests conducted by approved service providers. Only labs that successfully complete a rigorous approval process, including an audit by the VSCC, achieve the coveted listing with Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
Producing high-quality vehicles and components is not enough. In a global market, it's essential for these products to adhere to varying national regulations. Obtaining VSCC certification not only gives you an immediate competitive edge in Taiwan but also significantly streamlines future certification processes.
For globally operating companies in the automotive industry, it is imperative to take the Taiwanese market and its VSCC requirements seriously.
VSCC has recently approved imat for horizontal flammability testing in accordance with VSTD 19. We are now one of the few European testing labs to have gained this renewed approval. But that's not all: imat can also perform tests for the American (FMVSS 302) and Canadian markets (CMVSS 302), all within a DAkkS-accredited framework.
The renewed approval by the VSCC serves as a clear validation of imat's expertise and allows globally active customers to integrate imat into their international projects.
